The Space Placements in Industry (SPIN) Programme, coordinated by the UK Space Agency, brokers projects that provide real experience of work in the space sector for university students to tackle the UK space sector skills shortage. Over 70 students completed internships in over 40 space-related companies this year, providing them with the opportunity to develop their technical expertise alongside an understanding of how industry operates. UK Space Agency celebrates 10 years of running the SPIN Programme in 2023 and is hoping to expand the number of placements it offers when it launches its call for project ideas in January 2023.
