Space Interns

Rich Lewis

As part of the UK-EONS team my primary focus is identifying, cataloguing and mapping companies in the UK across a range of industries who offer space-related products and services, focusing on sustainability and positive environmental impact. In the future I hope to become a spacecraft/payload systems engineer.

Amy Heeley

During my time with Space Hub Yorkshire, I have engaged in Research and Development tasks to create a document for a US Trade Mission. As a Journalism Student at the University of Leeds, working with SHY is perfect for enhancing my skills in analysing information, and investigating a variety of projects.

Yuvraj A Wankhede

During my time at SHY, I had the privilege of designing the website layout of SHY for the South Yorkshire. Although, I never got a chance to meet my colleagues and my managers in person, I was assured of the supportive and fun-loving nature of everyone at the Hub.

Thom Zeff

During my time with SHY, I’ve researched aerospace and space-tech companies to design webpage content, contributed to outreach events, and collected data on the UK Earth Observation market. I aim to work in acoustics within the physics field or potentially transition into events management or creative production.

Beth Ferguson

In 2023, I became SHY’s first space intern while studying at the University of Leeds. I supported the team logistically, contributing to website design, the Space North launch and networking events. Currently, I’m writing my dissertation on comparative atmospheric analysis of Mars and Earth, aiming to work in the space sustainability sector when I graduate.

Jessie Wong

During my time with Space Hub Yorkshire, I supported media outreach and created infographics highlighting the growth of Yorkshire’s space industry. I worked with industry data to produce clear visuals that support communication and engagement.
I also helped organising Space Hub Yorkshire events, assisting with coordination and logistics. This experience strengthened my skills in communication, organisation, and data presentation, which also benefits my current role as a Hospitality Administrator at the university, where event coordination and stakeholder communication are essential.
