The UK Space Agency has opened Call 3 of the Connectivity in Low Earth Orbit (C-LEO) Programme, making up to £42 million available to help UK businesses develop the next generation of satellite communications technologies. The programme aims to strengthen the UK’s position in the rapidly growing global Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite market by supporting ambitious, commercially focused innovation projects.
Funding is available to UK-registered businesses, including SMEs, for collaborative projects that will accelerate the development and industrialisation of technologies such as regenerative payloads, advanced networking and routing, active antennas, optical communications and next-generation user terminals. Projects can apply for between £4 million and £25 million, with applicants required to provide matched funding.
This is an exciting opportunity for organisations across the Space Hub Yorkshire cluster to develop cutting-edge satellite communications technologies, build strategic partnerships and bring innovative products closer to market. As demand for resilient, high-capacity global connectivity continues to grow, the programme offers a significant platform for UK companies to strengthen their competitive position in this fast-moving sector.
