Funding Opportunity: ACTASAP Pilot Phase 1 Opens for Advanced Connectivity Technologies

Space Hub Yorkshire is pleased to highlight a new funding opportunity aimed at supporting the commercialisation of next-generation communications technologies emerging from the UK’s academic research base.

Innovate UK has launched ACTASAP Pilot Phase 1, a new competition funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) to accelerate the development of innovative Advanced Connectivity Technologies (ACT). A total of up to £800,000 is available to support early-stage projects that can help strengthen the UK’s position as a global leader in future connectivity technologies.

The programme is designed to:

  • Support world-leading UK research in advanced connectivity technologies and maintain the UK’s international leadership in the sector.
  • Bridge the gap between research and commercialisation by providing early-stage, pre-commercial funding to develop promising ideas towards market readiness.
  • Address real-world challenges by encouraging challenge-led innovation informed by government and industry needs.
  • Support scale-up and investment readiness, helping UK SMEs attract private investment and grow globally competitive products and services.

Projects can receive 100% funding, with total project costs between £5,000 and £32,000 across the two phases of the competition. The application deadline is 28 July 2026 at 11:00am.
