The University of Bradford comprises five research themes related to space, including communications, satellite imaging, data science, artificial intelligence, distributed computing and control systems. The Bradford-Renduchintala Centre for Space AI focuses on the application of artificial intelligence, distributed computing, and embedded electronics to develop autonomous information and communication solutions for space systems and their management. As well as a dedicated satellite systems MSc course, Bradford has an in-house miniaturised satellite that they are planning to launch in the last quarter of 2024. They partner with industry, multinational corporations and national space agencies, to upskill staff and develop research solutions in RF, AI, telecommunications, signal processing, network security, satellite communications, earth observation, and other areas.
