DESCRIPTION:Space4Climate are hosting a workshop on the 25th of June about ‘Space Data for National Resilience’. \nIf you want to learn more about Earth Obsevation and how it can be used in your business the event below would be a great place to start! \n\n\nRegister by clicking here\n\nOverview\n\n\n\nAn outcomes-focused workshop of real-world challenges / problem statements looking for space-based data solutions\, for end users & experts \n\n\n\n\nJoin this free workshop to meet experts from across industry\, policy and academia to hear about current and emerging technology\, tools and platforms that address real-world challenges of UK resilience and environmental security across all sectors – including yours. \nAfter a networking lunch\, the programme will feature an introductory panel of presentations: ‘The role of data from space in resilience solutions today and in the future’. \nIt will be followed by a number of real-world challenges / problem statements posed by potential end users who want to know whether space-based data applications can offer solutions. \nBefore the event\, you will have the chance to choose which breakout session you want to join depending on the challenge / problem statement that best matches your needs or capabilities. \nKey insights and ideas for potential next steps will be captured by facilitators and shared back in the main conference room. \nAfter the event summaries will be shared with all attendees and invitations to express interest in pursuing one or more potential next steps. \nThe organisers are leading bodies in UK Earth Observation and the space sector: Space4Climate\, UK Space Agency\, National Centre for Earth Observation and Space South Central. \nWe are grateful to our sponsors\, Space4Climate members Planet and venue hosts Henley Business School. \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND? \nWhether you are new to satellite data / Earth Observation and its uses or already rely on it for your products or decision-making\, you will find valuable insights\, make new connections and hear about innovative developments. \nWHAT WILL YOU GAIN? \nParticipants will take away practical\, actionable insights into ways in which Earth Observation data has provided and can provide support to address issues\, building resilience and security\, and where to find those data and tools. You will have the chance to express interest in taking ideas forwards or in collaborating on solutions. \nVENUE \nThanks to the support of the ICMA Centre at Henley Business School\, we are pleased to host the workshop at the prestigious International Capital Market Association Centre\, University of Reading Whiteknights Campus (RG6 6UR). \nOur host is Simone Varotto\, Professor of Finance\, Head of the Climate and Finance Research Cluster\, Programme Director of MSc Climate Change\, Sustainable Business and Green Finance\, and Programme Director of MSc Finance and Financial Technology (FinTech) at Henley Business School which is one of the larger specialist university finance departments in Europe. \nBOOKING DEADLINE \nRegistration will close on Monday\, June 15\, and capacity is limited to one named person from each organisation\, allocated on a first come first served basis. DESCRIPTION:Following the outstanding success of STEMFest Yorkshire and Humber 2025\, which brought together over 2\,000 students and 200 educators for three days of immersive STEM learning\, the Yorkshire & Humber STEM Hub\, delivered by RTC North\, is delighted to announce the return in 2026 at Events North in Leeds. \nLast year’s event showcased the power of region wide collaboration\, with more than 60 organisations from industry\, academia\, and the public sector joining forces to broaden participation in STEM and spark new aspirations among young people. \nPost‑event evaluation highlighted exceptional engagement and long‑term educational impact\, with: \n\n89% of teachers reporting STEMFest helped students understand how STEM links to real world jobs.\nTeachers noting\, they planned to embed learning from STEMFest into future lessons and curriculum planning.\nExhibitors describing the event as a highlight of their outreach year\, citing meaningful and sustained engagement with pupils.\nStudents from both primary and secondary settings developing new interests in technology\, cybersecurity\, engineering\, and health sciences.\nMany schools attending specifically to support underrepresented or underserved learners\, strengthening equity ambitions across the region.\n\nWhat to Expect in 2026 \nSTEMFest returns 1st – 2nd July with two days of dynamic\, hands‑on exploration designed to inspire 10–13‑year‑olds from across Yorkshire and the Humber. This year’s event will feature a series of immersive\, industry‑led activity zones along with standout experiences. Over 50 interactive exhibits will showcase real STEM careers\, equipment\, and technologies with activities aimed to ignite curiosity\, build confidence\, and introduce young people to the breadth of careers available across STEM. \nClaire Willis\, Team Leader at the STEM Hub\, said: \n“After two fantastic years in Bradford\, we’re excited to bring STEMFest Yorkshire and Humber to Leeds for 2026. This move reflects the growing scale and ambition of the event\, giving us space to welcome even more schools from across the region and expand access to interactive STEM learning.
