SUMMARY:HIDDEN CAPABILITIES: The Pathway to Commercial Success in Space and the role of In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD)
DESCRIPTION:THE PATHWAY TO COMMERCIAL SUCCESS IN SPACE \nFinding where your technology fits\, what evidence buyers need\, and when in-orbit validation matters \n On \nBRING ONE TECHNOLOGY. LEAVE KNOWING WHAT EVIDENCE COULD MAKE IT BUYABLE. \nFor technology companies from adjacent sectors\, and for space companies seeking a route to validation. A technology may solve a real problem in space and still be difficult to buy. Customers need evidence that it works in the target environment\, integrates safely and delivers the promised outcome. This webinar shows how to define that evidence and turn it into a practical validation plan. \n\nTHE COMMERCIAL QUESTIONS \n\nWhere is space actually missing capability?\nCould technology you already own solve one of those problems?\nWhat stops a space customer from buying it today?\nWhat evidence would remove that barrier?\nWhat should be proven on Earth\, and when does a customer need in-orbit demonstration (IOD) and flight data?\nHow do you move from technology to validated product\, flight heritage and commercial adoption?\n\n  \nWHERE EXISTING INDUSTRY CAN STEP IN \n\nOnboard processing and autonomy: industrial AI\, embedded software and secure edge systems.\nResilient communications: RF\, telecoms\, cybersecurity and optical or quantum networking.\nSpace domain awareness and sensing: radar\, passive RF\, image analytics and precision timing.\nIn-orbit servicing and manufacturing: robotics\, advanced materials and precision engineering.\n\n  \nWHAT ATTENDEES LEAVE WITH \nA practical framework they can apply to one technology: identify the market gap\, define the buyer barrier\, specify the evidence required\, and decide what belongs in ground testing versus in-orbit demonstration. \n  \nBRING ONE TECHNOLOGY. LEAVE KNOWING WHAT TO PROVE NEXT. \nFROM TECHNOLOGY READINESS TO FLIGHT HERITAGE \nClick here to sign up for the webinar.

SUMMARY:Building the Workforce Beneath the Satellites
DESCRIPTION:As the UK space economy grows\, where will its future workforce come from?\nThe UK’s space sector needs far more than astronauts and scientists. Its success depends on engineers\, technicians\, manufacturers\, digital and data specialists\, cyber professionals\, construction\, infrastructure and logistics providers. \nThe future space industry workforce will not be built by colleges or employers acting in isolation\, it will be built through collaboration with industry. If the UK is to deliver its ambitions for growth in the space sector\, education providers and industry must work together to shape the skills pipeline that will power the sector’s future success. \nHull College and Space Hub Yorkshire are delighted to invite you to join us on 8 October for The Workforce Beneath the Satellites. \nThe timing could not be more relevant. The Government’s recently published UK Space Strategy sets out ambitious plans for the sector\, backed by £7.8 billion of investment through to 2030. Delivering those ambitions will require a workforce with the skills\, knowledge and technical capabilities to support growth across the space economy and Further Education has a critical role to play. \nColleges need industry input to ensure that training provision reflects real-world demand. Hearing directly from businesses across the space sector is essential to understanding the skills\, competencies and experience that employers will need in the years ahead. Those insights can help shape curriculum development\, inform future training provision and ensure learners are equipped for the opportunities emerging across the space economy. \nThis event will bring together leaders from Further Education\, the space sector\, industry and government to explore what this means in practice. We are particularly keen to hear from employers about the challenges they face in recruiting talent\, the skills gaps they identify\, and the opportunities for closer collaboration between industry and education. \nWhether you’re a college leader\, curriculum specialist\, employer or industry representative\, your perspective is vital. Join us to help shape the workforce that will power the UK’s future in space. \n\nRegister here

SUMMARY:Space Hub Yorkshire Joins Great North Mission to India
DESCRIPTION:Space Hub Yorkshire will be participating in the Great North trade mission to India next week\, joining business\, civic and academic leaders from across the North of England to strengthen international partnerships and explore new opportunities for collaboration. \nThe Great North mission marks the first time Northern regions have come together under a single banner for a coordinated trade and investment delegation to India. Taking place from 12-16 October\, the programme will focus on trade\, investment\, innovation\, research and cultural exchange\, building on the growing relationship between the UK and India. \nIndia is one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies and an increasingly important partner for the UK. The mission comes at a significant moment following the implementation of the UK-India Free Trade Agreement\, which is expected to create new opportunities for businesses\, universities and innovation-led organisations across the North of England. \nFor Space Hub Yorkshire\, the visit provides an opportunity to showcase the strengths of Yorkshire’s space and world class Radio Frequency Engineering ecosystem while developing relationships with organisations operating across the Indian space\, communications and technology sectors. \nThe Yorkshire & Humber region has established expertise in applications including satellite communications technologies\, photonics\, sensors and seen as a world leader in Earth Observation and particularly Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (inSAR). \nAs India continues to invest heavily in its space capabilities\, there is growing potential for collaboration in areas including satellite communications\, Earth observation\, digital infrastructure\, skills development and university-industry research partnerships. \nThe mission will also provide an opportunity to promote the work taking place across Yorkshire’s innovation ecosystem and explore how international partnerships can support business growth\, investment and knowledge exchange.

SUMMARY:Space-Comm Expo Europe 2027
DESCRIPTION:WHY SPACE-COMM EXISTS \nMost space companies have great technology. Very few have the right conversations. \nGetting in front of a government procurement lead\, a senior MOD official\, or an ESA programme director doesn’t happen through a LinkedIn message or a cold email. \nIt happens through trust\, timing\, and being in the right room. \nEvery year\, the decision-makers who shape Europe’s space future walk our floor. They sit on our panels. They take meetings. They sign deals. \nWe build the room where the most important introductions in the industry happen\, year after year\, with the same commitment to quality over volume. \n  \nSHY at Space-Comm \nOff the back of a previous collaboration Partnership between Space-Comm and Space Hub Yorkshire\, we are looking at the best form or representation to ensure that Yorkshire’s Space sector is highlighted on this international stage. If you are work for a company\, University\, local government organsation\, or any other organisation\, and have a vested interest in the Space sector in Yorkshire\, we would like to discuss your plans for Space-Comm Expo Europe 2027 to see how we can potentially support or collaborate.
